LONGHOUGHTON RANGERS ACHIEVE FA DEVELOPMENT CLUB STATUS!

Longhoughton Rangers have become the first football club in Alnwick District to achieve the prestigious FA Charter Standard Development Club status.

This is a huge milestone in the development of our Club and the award marks our transition from small village club to a major district centre of football development. The fact that we are the first Club between Cramlington and Lowick to achieve Development Club Status is testament to the fantastic efforts of volunteers in gaining FA coaching qualifications to ensure that we provide the highest quality football experience to all of our players.

Well done to everyone!

LONGHOUGHTON GIRLS TAKE RURAL FIVES U-12 AND U-14 TITLES!

Longhoughton U-12 Jewels (managed by Nicky Pennington) and the Longhoughton U-14 girl’s team (managed by Carolyn Cass) have overcome stiff opposition from Amble, Lowick, Belford and Wooler to win the Rural Fives Autumn League at both the U-12 and U-14 age groups. This is a fantastic achievement in their inaugural year and demonstrates the outstanding success of our girls section which was only formed in February.

A further special mention to our U-12 Diamonds team who constantly improved and played a full part in a thrilling League finale. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to make the Lindisfarne venue such a great success.

RANGERS DELIVER FREE FOOTBALL TO LONGHOUGHTON FIRST SCHOOL

Longhoughton Rangers has continued its work in the Community using football to promote a healthy lifestyle, team work, discipline and mutual respect. Following on from its outstandingly successful programme of girls’ football in Alnwick Middle Schools, the Club has just completed a free 5 week programme of football at Longhoughton First School for 65 boys and girls as part of the school curriculum.

On Monday 10 December, coaches, led by Club school liaison officer and Level 2 coach Bob Pattinson, returned to give out certificates to all the kids who had been an absolute pleasure to coach. Many thanks to Bob who co-ordinated the programme and the Club Coaches (Ian Clapcott, Stew Case, Daz Finney, Adam Harris and Paul Kiddell) who gave their time to make the programme a fantastic success

The Club will be returning to the School in the Spring to continue this popular scheme. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2006-2007
